Tea Rose Foundation of NW Arkansas Event

Please join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Phi Alpha Omega Chapter; the Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas; the Rogers Public Library; and the Rogers Public Library Foundation for We Write For You III, a Black children's book author panel and book reading for children ages 0 through 18.

This year's virtual event will feature: Ashley Franklin, author of Not Quite Snow White and Better Together Cinderella; Ayana Gray, New York Times Bestselling Author of Beasts of Prey; and Jacqueline Woodson, Coretta Scott King, Newbery, National Book, and NAACP Image Award winning author of Brown Girl Dreaming and The Day You Begin. We believe that representation matters, and we are delighted to bring these diverse authors to our community.

Free, signed books will be available to all children who attend the event.

Jacqueline Woodson

Jacqueline Woodson is an American writer of books for adults, children, and adolescents. She is best known for her National Book Award-Winning memoir Brown Girl Dreaming, and her Newbery Honor-winning titles After Tupac and D Foster, Feathers, and Show Way. Her picture books The Day You Begin and The Year We Learned to Fly were NY Times Bestsellers. After serving as the Young People’s Poet Laureate from 2015 to 2017, she was named the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature by the Library of Congress for 2018–19. She was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 2020. Later that same year, she was named a MacArthur Fellow.
